What is S.A.F.E. EMDR?
S.A.F.E. EMDR is a trauma-informed adaptation of EMDR that prioritizes stabilization, resourcing, and nervous system regulation before trauma reprocessing. It helps clients build safety, emotional regulation skills, and internal capacity so trauma work can proceed in a more contained, paced, and tolerable way. This approach is especially helpful for individuals with complex trauma, dissociation, attachment wounds, or limited internal resources.
Deborah Kennard explains the basics of SAFE EMDR and how it can help create permanent transformation in a person's life. Emalee Jones, MA, ALC is trained in this version of EMDR. To make an appointment for SAFE EMDR, call our office at 205-208-0070 or request an appointment online.
