What is Experiential Therapy?
Experiential therapy is a body-focused, creative way to process trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional struggles. Clients use tools like sandtray, art, movement, and imagery to explore feelings that may be hard to express with words. This therapy encourages emotional healing, self-discovery, and long-term personal growth for people of all ages.

Our counselors offer several different types of experiential therapies.
-
Expressive Art Therapy – Using creative visual arts to express emotions and process experiences.
-
Sandtray Therapy – Exploring thoughts and feelings through miniature figures in a sandbox to process trauma nonverbally. Yes, even with adults!
-
Movement – Using movement and mindfulness to release tension, regulate the nervous system, and support emotional healing.
-
Guided Imagery / Visualization – Using mental imagery to reduce stress, process trauma, and develop coping strategies.
-
Body-Focused / Somatic Therapy – Using awareness of body sensations and movement to process trauma and regulate the nervous system.

Clients who engage in experiential therapies can expect a safe, supportive environment where feelings and experiences are explored at their own pace. These modalities provide opportunities to release tension, gain insight, and develop healthier coping skills, all while engaging both the mind and body. Many clients notice increased emotional regulation, greater self-awareness, and a deeper sense of personal growth as they move through the healing process.
