What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a powerful, trauma-focused therapy that helps access the deeper parts of the brain where unresolved emotions and beliefs are stored. At Alabama Counseling and Wellness, some of our counselors are trained to use Brainspotting to help clients release trauma, reduce anxiety, relieve depression and transform emotional blocks that may be holding them back. This approach is effective for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. While everyone responds to different therapies differently, many clients report rapid relief of mental health symptoms and accelerated healing for trauma.

Erica Smith, M.Div, MA, ALC is trained in Brainspotting (phase II). Click here to check out her bio on our website.
Lisa Larson, Brainspotting Trainer at the Pacific Counseling and Trauma Center, explains the basics of Brainspotting and how it can help create permanent  transformation in a person's life. A number of the ACW counselors are trained in the use of this modality and can integrate it into sessions as appropriate or if requested.
This is bilateral stimulation audio that is sometimes used in Brainspotting Sessions. It is calming and helps regulate the nervous system. *This is best listened to with earbuds so that you can hear the bilateral stimulation.
