Anne Sherman, M. Ed, NCC, ALC (she/her) is a National Certified Counselor who works with kids ages 6 and older, teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity development. She has two years of experience working with children and previously served at a child advocacy center, where she supported children and families navigating difficult experiences with compassion and care. She provides trauma-informed, child-centered play therapy for children as well as offering trauma-informed approaches such as Trauma-Focused CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic healing to help clients of all ages connect mind, body, and emotions.
A personal and professional passion of Anne’s is supporting children and teens navigating Type 1 diabetes, while also offering support to parents and caregivers. Anne brings both clinical training and lived experience to her work, having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of nine.
Anne provides individual counseling for children and teens, along with parent sessions and occasional joint sessions as appropriate. Areas of focus may include diabetes-related anxiety, burnout, medical stress, building coping skills, and increasing confidence in daily management. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive, and understanding environment where children and teens can process the emotional and practical stressors of life in general while living with a chronic illness.

Her approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, emphasizing trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Anne also integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and nervous system–based techniques to support whole-person healing. For clients who desire it, she offers faith-based counseling as part of her integrative work.

Anne is nationally board certified and trained in Trauma-Focused CBT. Her work with clients is rooted in the belief that healing and growth happen through genuine connection, mutual trust, and a collaborative therapeutic process. She is an Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Adam Calvert, LPC-S.

Outside the therapy room, Anne enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to audiobooks, thrift shopping, and taking her dog on long walks.
